What is body talk?
Bodytalk finds the hidden cause of illness by looking at physical, emotional, and environmental factors rather than focusing on the symptoms.
Bodytalk is about listening to our bodies. We listen to see what lines of communication are broken down. Everything within our bodies should be in constant communication at all times. We are waking the area of the body up to remember to do the job it was supposed to do.
We do some tapping on our 3 brains, the head brain, the heart brain, and the gut brain.
With the head brain, we are getting it to wake up and facilitate the change. With the heart brain, we are storing the memory of the change. And with the gut brain, we tap on it to discern what we want to keep or what we want to let go of.
Our bodies have the ability to heal themselves. If we cut ourselves, we know what to do.
How we view the world also affects our health, i.e., our ridgid belief systems, also known as our filters. In bodytalk, we help clean the filters so we can view them with a clearer lens. It’s like cleaning the window screen and seeing what’s outside.

How can bodytalk help me?
BodyTalk is based on the principle that the body knows how to heal itself at all levels. For example, when you cut your finger, your body begins the healing process immediately without intervention. This automatic, self-guided healing process is part of the body’s inborn intelligence, or the “Innate wisdom” of the body, as we call it in BodyTalk. The Innate wisdom guides the overall functioning of the body/mind, synchronizes all the activities as well as maintains balance, or homeostasis, within the body/mind complex.
Think of your body as a system of energy circuits and communication lines. Every single cell, atom and system is in constant communication with every other cell, atom and system at all times. They communicate through the nervous system as well as through other subtle energy circuits of the body. Unfortunately, stress, toxins and environmental factors breakdown communication lines and cause circuits to overload —this results in illness.

What does your bodytalk session involve?
BodyTalk uses the principles of consciousness based medicine and your body’s innate wisdom to help it promote healing on all levels. A BodyTalk practitioner finds out what your body needs to re-balance the flow of healthy energy and is trained to silently ask your body a series of questions outlined on an extensive Protocol and Procedure chart and using a muscle reflex technique. Your body knows what needs to heal and guides the priority and the healing route to take.

In BodyTalk, your body’s choice is ALWAYS honoured. The sequence to be addressed is determined by your body’s own innate intelligence or wisdom. Healing happens when parts of your body are re-synchronized and communicating with each other. Your body knows how to heal itself – it just needs to remember how.

What is the process?
The BodyTalk practitioner will find specific areas within your energetic body where the balance and communications are interfering with the healing process. Everything that comes up is based on what your body-mind is ready to heal. This information is sourced directly from your innate wisdom. It could be communication imbalances between organs, body parts or cells, viruses, toxins, genetic factors, trapped emotions, ancestral components, your relationship to the environment or current life situation, or a traumatic memory from long ago. Everything that comes up is based on what your body is ready to heal. The practitioner lightly touches the highlighted areas, and then gently taps over the brain, the heart-brain, and the gut-brain. The tapping process brings these areas to your body’s attention, stores the information, and stimulates the healing process.
What Can I Expect?
Everyone is different, and your experience and response will be just as unique as you are. Commonly felt sensations during a BodyTalk session include feeling warm or cold, a tingling sensation, a general feeling of calmness and relaxation throughout the body, a sudden burst of emotion, and abdominal gurgling as energy is released from the diaphragm. Results after a session may be subtle, or dramatic, depending on the level of healing that your body is ready to handle. Some clients experience a major and immediate shift after a single BodyTalk session. Others report a steady overall improvement in all aspects of their health (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) over a period of time with regular sessions. Often the first few sessions are foundation setting, establishing a platform for the healing process to prepare you for a deeper level of healing.
First visit
On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a Wellness Intake Form indicating a brief history, as well as your current physical and emotional well-being. This information is used to gather the intentions for what you would like to address, and as a measurement tool for your progress. You will also be asked to sign a standard consent form. Any information that you share will remain private.
How long do I wait between appointments?
At the end of the session, the practitioner asks your body if a subsequent session is indicated, and the optimal timing for the next session. The actual BodyTalk session is just the beginning of the healing process. Your body’s energy patterns will continue to shift over each 24-hour cycle in the days and weeks after your session, as your body works through the changes necessary to achieve your optimal physical, mental and emotional health.
How many sessions will I need?
We listen to the body to determine the amount of sessions needed. Some chronic conditions may take longer. It depends on how long you have been experiencing the condition, and how many layers of factors have contributed to it. The symptoms are often the last to go because BodyTalk addresses root causes deep within the bodymind complex, not surface symptoms. Results are cumulative, so as each session builds upon the previous session, they become more powerful.
Do I have to do anything special after the session?
It is recommended that you take it easy after your session. Your body will be processing the new shifts in energy patterns, as it redirects resources to the area. Please drink plenty of water to help support your body’s healing process, as all biochemical reactions in the body require water.
Can BodyTalk be used for preventative maintenance?
BodyTalk is excellent for preventative health maintenance. By keeping the body in a balanced, stress-free state, you can establish lasting patterns of good health. The recommendation for regular maintenance is monthly, or every other month if that is not possible.
